Bankroll location

Where to store the bankroll..

So do people generally store their bankroll IN the poker sites, or keep most of it in Neteller (or similar).

I have a Neteller account but my b/r is split between Stars and Party. If a redeposit bonus comes along then I'm stuffed really..

Does it cost anything to move money from one poker site to another via Neteller? How much?

No, its free as long as you use the "regular" transfer and not the "instant cash".
I kept it all at the poker sites for a while but when it got bigger and I started making regular withdrawals and spending some of it, I opened a new bank account dedicated to my poker bankroll.

I rarely keep any at Neteller, but probably should for quick access when the bonuses come along.

Great! Thanks for that - I'll ship some over to Neteller for precisely that purpose.

Right now, my entire roll is on Pokerstars. I should probably cash some of it out and use it to get some bonus at some of the other sites I have been thinking of playing on. But as iceman said, I think it's good to keep some of it in Neteller or firepay. Pokerstars just had their deposit bonus and since I didn't have any money in firepay I couldn't take advantage of it. Bummer.

I believe mine charges about a tenner. However, the big deciding factor will be what exchange rate they use; I'm fairly certain neteller cream off at least 1% in exchanges, which is pretty major on a $2000 withdrawl!

If you want to keep your bankroll seperate, the best bet is to make your neteller account a US$ one, then you dont have to worry about them creaming a bit off the top in exchange rate.

The only time the exchange rate will effect you then is when you want some of it to spend and withdraw it from neteller to your bank, this way you should get the better exchange rate that the bank uses.

As 95% of the poker sites use US$ for currency it makes sense for your bankroll to be in US$

Neteller scares me when I look at their location. Where the hell is the "Isle of Man?"

A lot of banking etc is done on the isle of man because the legal requiremtns for banking and financial institutions there are much more relaxed than the rest of the UK and most of Europe. Kinda like the swiss banks I guess :)

BTW I've just found out from Neteller that it is possible to have two accounts, one in pounds and one in dollars. If you want them both linked to the same email address you have to do it over the (freefone) phone. If you're already certified on your old account then they will certify the new account instantly.
