BR for Tourney Play?

Postby BigPhish » Tue Sep 20, 2005 9:45 am

I started playing limit, graduated to NL, and played the odd tourney here and there throughout.

Having recently read Harrington's books, re-testing the waters, and finding that I'm a bigger phish than I thought, I think I might like to go a month or three focusing on tourneys. I'll probably play S&G mainly, 1-2 table, with maybe a multi or two thrown in per week. Of course, going back to NL to bonus whore once in a while... ;)

My recent tourney results are reasonably good. Over the past couple of weeks, I tend to, on average, double my buy-in. Meaning that if I buy in to 5, $20+$2 tourneys I'm usually up over $100 at the end of them. I don't for a minute believe that's sutainable, but it's enough to get me very interested in playing more of 'em.

That leads to my question... I know BR guidelines are 300BB for limit and 20-30 buy-ins for NL. What should I consider for tourneys given the texture of those that I intend to play?

Thanks...
