I actually do think of the $300 in my savings account as part of my bankroll. It's in an account that is not going to get touched for quite a while. I just moved it out because I would rather earn a little bit of interest, and I also just liked the feeling when it hit my actual bank account rather than just being numbers on an overseas poker site. (Maybe part of it was to show my father that online poker isn't just a scam.

I obviously very much prefer never to have to put that money back online. However, for bankroll calculation purposes, it's still available. So when I hit $1,000 in total poker earnings, even though only $700 of it will be on poker sites, I will feel like I can move up to the $50 games. (I'm pretty sure I can figure out the $50 game before I lose 14 buy-ins anyway, so the location of the $300 shouldn't make any difference. Knock on wood.)
