$100/$200 simple pre-flop question.

Postby Xaston » Tue Mar 06, 2007 1:36 pm

UTG is a complete idiot. I was just watching the game cause I like to sweat high stakes games while bored. I noticed he was open limping the button every time and realized he was a big fat idiot.

I decided to sit in with position on him.

SB and BB are both for all intents and purposes, absolutely world class LHE players. UTG is the fish who won't stop limping.

So isn't this like asking a question to a bunch of school kids and then telling them you were smarter than them anyway? Were you looking for suggestions or were you planning to give us the answer all along?

I won't even pretend that I have any significant thoughts on a $100/$200 game with world class players and one ding dong involved, but I hate any hand that contains a "2" no matter what the other card is nor what the game is. That includes A2s and 22 as well. You also have to take into consideration what the 2 better players know about you though, don't you? If they are unsure of you and didn't know that you'd been watching UTG play like garbage then they may give you more credit for a better hand in the beginning.

Antneye: I too am still trying to figure out if that was a backhanded complement or an insult. The average 1/2 player isn't what he used to be.
Statler: I wonder if there really is life on other planets?
Waldorf: What do you care? You don't have a life on this planet.

Yeah MT i thought this was a brag thread at first but i guess its a legit question. A2o is above limpers range, i dno what my problem is here. Maybe not raising there is a leak. Maybe its that really weak acehighs in short games like this have reverse implied odds written all over them too? Of course, ace-king is like the king of reverse implied odds hands in a game like this though..then again over like JTo AK is like 65/35 instead of 55/45, which is a world of difference, so meh...

Anyways i asked madcaddy about the hand, and he said that he dumps in this spot also. FWIW it was dusty playin his acct, the caddyshacks as broke as the day he was born, from sports obv. I asked dusty too and dusty said PUMPIT. So wtf knows, prolly pretty sideways in terms of ev maybe?

I dunno. I've only played up to 15/30, but when there's a complete donk at the table, all the good players tend to bide their time and put the savage moves away. I seriously doubt you'd get 3-bet by a non-legit hand unless you've been raising to isolate him with similar hands frequently.
