AKs at a table with a bunch of maniacs

Postby digital scar » Sun Jun 19, 2005 10:42 pm

The SB and the BB had some kind of fued going on at this table so I just waited in the wings until I got a real hand. Sadly I flopped a beautiful draw that does not complete. I'm putting up this hand in part for the humor of the ways the 2 blinds played their hands, you gotta believe A high and Q high are good here right? :D

Results in white below:
SB has 4h Qc (one pair, queens).

Outcome: SB wins 28 BB.

Hand converter was not working very well but if you didn't catch the title, I also had the Ace of Diamonds here.

I probably bet the turn for value. You have a lot of people in the hand that you can get a big bet out of and you have potentially 9 to 15 outs depending if you A and K are good.

I agree on the missed turn value bet.

I thought for sure somebody behind me was going to bet the turn and then the blinds were going to have another raising fit.

Actually going back on this hand should I have 3 bet the flop? i just called hoping to keep more people in the hand. Thus increasing the value of my hand. Right?

I think we should change the name of the forum to "Bet the Turn." It would get our message across so much better.

On the turn, you're drawing to the stone cold nuts. The psycho pre-flop betting may say overpair (AA, KK, etc), likewise with the flop betting. You're already in the hand. You've chosen to call the capped flop bets. The turn card didn't help them, and they showed it. Jam the pot. Get them to fold. Even if they have trips, you have 9 outs to beat them, and the pot is (holy sh**) 6 way. You definitely have implied odds to bet the turn.
