UTG is a muppet...

Ultimate Bet 2/4 Hold'em (8 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with [Qc], [Qh].
UTG calls, 1 fold, MP1 calls, 3 folds, SB completes, Hero raises, UTG calls, MP1 folds, SB calls.

Flop: (7 SB) [6d], [9s], [3s] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, UTG raises, SB folds, Hero 3-bets, UTG calls.

Turn: (6.50 BB) [4s] (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks.

River: (6.50 BB) [Ts] (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks.

Final Pot: 6.50 BB

Results in white below:
Hero has Qc Qh (one pair, queens).
UTG has Ac Kc (high card, ace).
Outcome: Hero wins 6.50 BB.

This is the exact type of hand that I'm having the most trouble with and really need some work. Basically I gave every possible chance to this dude to catch his hand or bluff me off this pot.

When UTG raises the flop my intial thought is he's on the flush draw. Pre-flop limp and call, then flop raise often means flush draw and probably A high nut flush, although I have seen some crazy folks play AA this way. I consider a set a possiblility, but when he doesn't cap it I'd tend to discount that holding.

So the turn brings the damn 3rd spade and I immediately pucker up and turn pussy. Should I bet this turn? By just checking I'm leaving myself completely in the dark here. But if I bet and he raises, am I done with this hand? In the heat of battle, what do you make of his turn check behind? No flush or is he trying to get cute?

River 4th spade seems pretty simple to me. Nothing really to be gained by me betting since I won't get called unless I'm beat. If this jackass simply had a lone spade I'm toast and again, I have done nothing to find out what he might hold.

Gawd I hate boards like this when OOP!!!

Oh you have to raise QQ there, there is no doubt about that. You are so far ahead of pretty much everything else that limps that checking would be a travesty.

Ebon is right though, if you're going to 3 bet the flop then you have to lead the turn, it makes no sense and looks quite strange. If you get raised on the turn again, you have to reevaluate, though I'm not really one to fold my overpairs most of the time. He will probably fold the turn a lot too without a high spade.
