Can you not bet this river?

Postby Pok 7's » Mon Dec 04, 2006 10:18 pm

Sorry about the HH but it's on Tridonka. Taxi 270 is an classic LPP fish over 58 hands we have 67/1.7/0.48 And he goes to the SD 46% of the time. My thinking was someone is probably drawing and someone might have a piece of the board. Honestly I was very seriously considering checking this one behind here because when I value bet I get CR'ed and when I check behind I miss bets.

Looks like the hand I posted last night, except I had 2 pair. Other differences I see -

The 8 here completes more straights than the T did in my hand - anyone with a 9, obviously, but anyone with 46 flopped an OESD that hits on the river as well. In my hand, only a Q makes a straight, and there are only 4 of them in the deck. I think a straight is more likely here than in my hand.

The 8 could also give more people 2-pair on that board - 78, J8, T8 are all within the realm of playable hands for Tridonks. In my hand, I already had Aces up, so I'm not worried about a smaller 2-pair on the river.

You're closing the action here, so you have the option of the free showdown. I was OOP, and had to worry about it getting checked through if I had the best hand.

Given all that, I think I just check behind here - take the free showdown.
