Friday afternoon, I'm playing a bit of five-and-dime fixed limit to kill some time before taking my wife out for dinner on our 15th anniversary and this hand comes up...
The table is loose / passive / schizophrenic. I say the last because every once in a while, half the table will cap pre-flop. But that didn't happen here. Anyway...
I'm in CO and find myself staring at A[c]K[c]. Bunch of limpers to me, I raise. Button folds, SB folds, BB's in, rest call, and 6 of us see the flop with $.60 in the middle.
Flop lands Q[c]T[c]X. Checked to me, I bet. Hey, I've got draws at the nut straight and nut flush. I don't even think about Royals. Ever. Too rare. Anyway, everyone calls. $.90 in the middle to the Turn...
Which falls J[d]. Nut straight and I still have a draw to the nut flush. Yay, fishy me finally gets to win a pot!
Check, Check, Bet. Bet? WTF is he betting? Call, Call, I raise. Fold, Fold, Call, Fold, Fold. Me and MP left in it. Probably should have just called, might've had a bit more money on the river...
River brings the J[c] (had to, right? this story is about a Royal Flush). MP checks, I bet, he calls, I show the Royal. No idea what he had.
Of course, then I went on to lose that money back to the table when I took my pocket kings up against pocket aces TWICE IN 2 ROUNDS OF THE BUTTON! ARGH! Fishy.
