Flopped set: river ? (but all streets welcome)

Whats your response on river?...........

Villain is 10.5/5.26/1.0 over only 19 hands............

PokerStars 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed) from (Format: Bet The Pot)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with [7s], [7d].
2 folds, Hero calls, MP2 calls, 2 folds, Button raises, 1 fold, BB calls, Hero calls, MP2 calls.

Flop: (8.50 SB) [2s], [Qh], [7c] (4 players)
BB checks, Hero checks, MP2 checks, Button bets, BB folds, Hero calls, MP2 folds.

My flop play is questionable, I checked intending to raise and trap BB and Button for 2. When BB folds, I decide to call and hope to keep MP2 in hand since this flop is pretty harmless.

Turn: (5.25 BB) [Jd] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets, Hero raises, Button calls.

Here I figure I will make the bets up with a pretty standard check raise. J is not a great card, so this was a little risky if villain has AK and decides for free card.

River: (9.25 BB) [5d] (2 players)
Hero bets, Button raises, Hero ?.

OK. So it wasnt so hard after all. I only posted this because my aggression lately has been running into all sorts of unexplainable shit so the one time it worked out I just wanted to post and make sure I wasnt crazy.

I raised and he called and showed AA. Best pot Ive won in a while. Things have been really bad for me so far at 2/4.

Meh- tbh dood i think this is pretty subpar play on your part...maybe you were just like desperate to win a big hand finally, or something...Quick thoughts:

PF: Meh, w/e. I dont raise that in an FR game, if the games kinda loosish i dont mind the limp. If not, then I will dump this alot. 77-88 are just about the toughest hands to play from EP in an FR game..

Flop: I like the CR. if hes got AK/AT hes gonna peel/fold UI, and prolly check turn if you check it, and if not prol muck to a raise...I guess the paint card on the turn was good for your CRing chances though...but i get the feeling if a 6 wouldve came off youda gone for the CR also...the double check/CR is almost never as profitable as the standard CR/bet though, because even the tiny bit more you make with your line if all your plays work just right (this is assuming std play obv, that river play of his was pretty wtf-ish...) is more than made up by the fact that (a) You lose money when he checks the turn, and (b) you dont give him NEARLY enough opportunity to overplay an overpair (altough this guy managed to find one still, most players slow down with OPs in FR games to a turn CR)

For EX, had you CRed him on flop, hed have three bet, and you coulda either (a) capped and lead turn (this particular mizor might have actually raised you allowing you to threebet) or (b) called threebet then got a DEFINITE CR off on turn, since now you know he's prol gonna bet...

In a HU pot though, check/check with the intention of CRing=not that great of a play imho..ultimately gonna make less off both nothing and bigpairs alike..
