99 from SB, raiser in MP1

Postby antneye » Mon Dec 18, 2006 2:17 pm

Since none of the 3 people who watch this channel wanted to comment in the value town thread.....I am re-posting here.

Did I just hop on the bus to valuetown?

Some explaining is due:

villain is 22.79/13.97/1.14 and goes to showdown 40.74%
PFR is to isolate since I do not have odds to play for set.
Turn and river is bet/fold (although I have never actually executed that strategy...it's nice to think thats what I was going to do)

PokerStars 1/2 Hold'em (7 handed) from (Format: Bet The Pot)

Preflop: Hero is SB with [9c], [9h].
1 fold, MP1 raises, 3 folds, Hero 3-bets, 1 fold, MP1 calls.

Flop: (7 SB) [Th], [8h], [7s] (2 players)
Hero bets, MP1 calls.

Turn: (4.50 BB) [Qc] (2 players)
Hero bets, MP1 calls.

River: (6.50 BB) [8s] (2 players)
Hero bets, MP1 calls.

Final Pot: 8.50 BB

Results in white below:
Hero has 9c 9h (two pair, nines and eights).
MP1 has 4d 4s (two pair, eights and fours).
Outcome: Hero wins 8.50 BB.

Very nice. I probably play it the same, until the turn. I don't think I could bet that turn and if he calls, I know I couldn't bet that river. There is just so much other there that connects with most hands. Fortunately you found an idiot.
