Play this any differently? Re-raise before the flop?

This guy was kind of slowplyaing queens in a weird way. I check on the flop looking to check-raise and see where he was, but he checked behind, telling me he didn't have a PP. On the turn I am confident in my hand and bet it and he just calls, making me even more confident he is just on an ace. The river comes a safe card and I bet for value hoping he is like most and will call down with ak or aq. By the time he showed any interest in his hand it was too late to just fold it seems.
