Miller, lederer, matros, and rolf? That's a pretty weak line up for best LHE minds.

I like Oppenheim, Cassidy, and Sagstrom.[/quote]

Just for discussion:

Slotboom argues in one of his articles that raising AJ on the button after a bunch of limpers is not always the right play.

If you only think in terms of likelyhood to have the best hand then yes, this justifies a raise. But raising preflop takes away some postflop options. In particular, if you hit your J-hi flop, you won't be able to defend your hand since people will automatically check to the preflop raisor. You'd rather have a weaker hand like KJ lead into you so that you can raise and defend your hand better.

However, do you want those weaker hands to stay in and draw on you?

Case in point--you have AJ on the button and limp. 5 players see the flop of J-6-5.

One player has KJ, another has 65. You're screwed. Of course, this only applies if you feel that your LP raise will get people to fold.
