Apparently since nobody raised it's impossible for him to even consider that you might have an A, not to mention he's 3 flushed on the flop and has overs if you paired anything.

Turn:
Since your str8 is cleverly hidden (not to menition he probably didn't even consider the possiblity). As far as he's concerned he's still has a real good chance to win because he's now 4 flushed. Besides who's to say you even have a spade higher than his.

River:
Bingo! He made a flush and that's all he cares about regarldess of the fact it's the 5th nuts, it's a flush and worthy of betting.

I had the same phenomenon whe i moved to 2/4.

It will all settle in and you will own these donks in no time at all.
