I know I know-ha, ha, ha

Postby digital scar » Sat Jun 04, 2005 5:13 pm

Ok I recently had to cash in my bankroll for a certain set of reasons, it sucks bad I know, but I had to do it. I left .90 cents in my Poker Stars account and have it up to around $11 after about 2k worth of hands playing 2c-4c limit hold'em. I know, I know, 2c-4c ha ha ha, but as my good buddy piers said "correct decisions in poker is still poker" so I will post this hand from my game last night. By the way my BB/100 is 14.40 at just over 2k worth of hands. I didn't even know I left .90c in my account until I was going to look at my balance that sadly was not there and I noticed the .90c and said awww what the heck lets see what I can do at a little 2-4c until I'm able to get back into the higher stakes game which I hope will be soon.

Part of the reason I did this post was to see if I could get the hand converter to work as I have never tried to use it when posting to the forum.

If a 2-4c limit game doesn't interest a soul, well then I'm sorry for wasting your time but atleast now I know that I can use the hand converter succesfully.

One other quick note that I didn't know until last night, but I guess I should have known is that PT shows the mucked hands after the hand is over even if the opponets didn't show their cards at the time. Hey I didn't know. I am still getting the hang of the amazing powers of PT, so I guess this post is a bit of a learning expierence for me. The reason I brougt this up is because when I went back to watch this hand in PT it showed both players cards I realized I was beat BY 2 PEOPLE. I didn't really put anybody on A-10 here but they could of had anything. I was just getting my money in with what I thought was the best hand.

Also just wanted to say thanks to everybody who posts' in every section of BTP. I found 2+2 usefull at times when I could find something decent to read and the UPF was ok as well, but I really feel at home here on BTP. I am continuously learing stuff all the time from great players like Ice, Piers, Kenny, Norten and a bunch of others.

Thanks all

First off, it don't matter if its 2c/4c, just post and we'll analyze and take that into account if necessary.

Second, its not PT that shows mucked cards, its the hand histories that it imports. If you go to the hand histories, like for party poker, you can see the mucked hands that were still in at showdown. Very useful especially since some people don't know they were there so you can appear smarter than you are if you want.

Third, In normal limit, I probably slow down to his 3 bet on the turn but there is usually not so many people in the pot so you can make a case for capping it to gain value of the pot to boat up. Also, at this level, these people can be betting on anything so its hard to give them credit for AT (can't believe mp2 just called the whole time) or T9. My only concern would be the turn cap but as I said, with that many people trapped, raising could be good to add value to the pot even if you know you are behind.

Thanks Bri, your post is helpful and on the money, as usual. :D

I thought about slowing down on the turn as you said but I didn't think I was up against KK for the higher set because it didn't get capped pre-flop. Granted not everbody is going to cap pre flop but I would think almost everybody would, so I thought my set was good on the flop, but with the action taking after I capped it and still had people in the hand I thought I might be behing to 10-9 but I thougt about 2 things-

1. If I am behind to the straight here then I should raise to add value to the pot since I still have 10 outs if I am behind and by that time the pot is huge

2. People at this level play 2 pair as if it's the stone cold nuts so I was going to make them pay if they have AK, AQ, AJ,KQ or KJ or if they picked up their backdoor flush draw on the turn

I guess I should have realized that the mucked hands are in the HH and not that PT is giving me extra information. I think I meant to say that, I just didn't know the mucked hands were in the HH, not that PT was stealing info from PS.

Thanks also for the kind words about my 2-4c limit. I just felt a little embarressed about posting it since I love reading the NL forum with huge pots, ect.

I had to cash out my BR for the time being so it's 2-4c for now but I might move up to 5-10c because I've gotten my .90c up to around $11. So 5-10c here I come. Woo Hoo :D
