lead or check river?

Postby shamdonk » Thu Mar 23, 2006 3:24 pm

PokerStars 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with [5d], [5s].
2 folds, UTG+2 raises, MP1 calls, 5 folds, Hero calls.

Flop: (6.50 SB) [Qh], [5h], [Jd] (3 players)
Hero bets, UTG+2 calls, MP1 folds.

Turn: (4.25 BB) [6c] (2 players)
Hero bets, UTG+2 calls.

River: (6.25 BB) [9h] (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG+2 checks.

Final Pot: 6.25 BB
Be glad your opponents refuse to fold; if they didn't, you just might go broke.

I'd fire again. This just feels like an AJ that wants to get to a showdown as cheaply as possible.

Pretty standard river value bet.
Making a bad call with a good hand at the river is a small mistake, folding the best hand at the river is a disaster.

Isn't that possibly the worst river card?
