Live 3/6 hand

Postby Danhdan » Thu Mar 29, 2007 5:12 am

9-handed, I raise peflop after two limpers with JJ. Two calls behind, blinds calls, limpers call. Seven to the pot.

Flop is [Th] [5d] [4c]. four checks to me and I bet, Villian #2 calls, one call back to Villian #1 who check-raises. One fold, and I 3-bet. Villian #2 cold calls the two bets, another fold. Gets back to Villian #1 who caps, I call Villian #2 calls. 3 to the turn which is the [5h]. Villian #1 bets out....Hero?

Reads: Villian #1 has his money in front of him because in the fifth hand I was at on the table, he checkraised a bet on the flop of [8c] [7c] [3c] with [6c] [4h], and hit a 5 on the turn and got paid off on the river...he's been decently aggro, and has shown down some hands. Villian #2 hasn't been at the table for more than three hands, so no read.
I've raised twice before preflop, not showing the first time, and showing QQ on a nine high board against six people who called my bet on the turn and taking down a nice pot.

Basically, hero never folds an overpair in a live 3/6 game unless the board is just horribly ugly.

The pot is bloated so we want to get to showdown here. I like a raise if we can eliminate Villain 2....not sure. Alternatively simply calling may get us to showdown a lot cheaper.

All told I think I cover up and call down from this point on and pray villain 2 cooperates by overcalling or folding. If he raises behind us and its 2 back to us I walk away.
