Table is mostly passive with the exception of 2 players on my immediate left.
Villain is a LAG whom a good player at the table tells me is a regular 40/80 player although so far all I've seen is mostly bad plays that have gotten lucky. He's cold calling about 1 out of 3 hands he plays from any position and open raising the other 2 out of 3. Maybe his plays are just over my head but it just looks like he's bored and "slumming" it at 8-16.

A quick example....
The hand before he limps into a kill pot with K6o from UTG+1, CO, Button and BB all come along. He flops trip 6's and they hold up with straight & flush draws on board.

I'm getting bunk for hands for about 4 orbits since LAG has sat down. His read on me has to be rock.

Hero (UTG+1) with , I open raise, Villain (MP1), Button, and BB call.

Flop:

Hero bets, Villain calls, all fold.

Turn:

Hero bets, villain raises, hero calls

River:

Hero checks, villain bets, hero calls

I play it the same. He may have lucked into a flush or boat but we can't worry about it. Raising the turn is a higher variance move but probably +EV.

I thought about 3 betting the turn there but I didn't think I could/should fold to a 4 bet which would certainly mean I was behind because then I would be getting about 13:1 to draw to my 4 outer.

Also, unless the river comes another club I knew I would be calling 1 more on the river. There wasn't anyway he would check behind on the river even with a weak K and I almost NEVER fold for 1 bet on the river. In these games, if people see you do that they WILL take shots at you later.

I felt like this was a WA / WB and I wanted to see a showdown as cheap as possible.

I seem to be having trouble in these spots and was curious to see if anyone gets away from this on the turn or folds to a 4 bet there (which would be incorrect).

These spots can be tough with an aggressive player. You can't fold to a four-bet after the proposed threebet, I think we can all agree that is too weak-tight.

One line I have been taking in these spots is to just call the raise on the turn and then bet out the river if a nonclub hits (which would put 4 on the board, but I think you are still check/calling if it does).

What do you guys think of this line? You still get paid off by stuff like 99 or a lessor king, a baby flush may not raise fearing a higher one as the betting out on the river tends to confuse some players. The only downside is losing a bet against someone raising the turn with the naked A. I have mixed feelings on this line, but it feels better than meekly calling down like you did. Not sure.

I dont like this line at all TBH... if hes gotta lesser king, you maximize value by CRing..if hes got 99, the same is true, except he may or may not bet, so if his hand is really marginal, you may make more this way, but more importantly though, because the guys aggro, if he had just a club draw (as we thought he may) he is guaranteed to fire the river to try and take it down, and we totally miss this bet if we fire the river... SO firing the river only maxzimizes value when the guys holding is real marginal, and even still may amount to the same thing since the guys aggressive and may bet 99 anyways...and OTOH, in the other two situations, it almost certainly misses a bet...
