i need some helps with my numbers guys so go ahead and rip away. Sidenote i have been playing for over a year but just got PT a couple of months ago. I have been able to scratch out some winnings but i am dealing with some varrience (sp) issues right now.

Could you give me your shorthanded numbers separate from your full ring please? they are different games so its harder to comment on them combined.

1/2 shorthanded 2216 hands
VPIP: 25.59
VPSB:51.02
FOLD SB: 68.75
FOLD BB: 38.25
STEAL ATT: 17.8
WON WSF: 31.85
BB/100: 2.14
WENT SD: 29.51
WON SD: 56.9
PFR: 11.15

I like these numbers better and i think shorthanded is funner to play, but my Bankroll is not what it use to be to play here. So i get a little scared when dealing with my varrience issue here.

Thanks

hey Pokerquest--

2200 hands is a tiny sample realistically.

IMHO, your VP is okay (could even be a little looser, maybe 28%?) Your PFR is a bit low- it would suggest that you limp probablyh half the time. Limping first in in an SH game when you have a hand that justifies a call (like a KJo for example) is generally not the greatest idea, unless you are at a very specific type of table, i.e. one where raises dont narrow the field at all and your gonna get cold called in 3 spots if you raise anyway. I dont think you are limping with weak hands like 9To or anything like that, as your VP would probably reflect that - so i think your hand selection is probably fine, but PFR could be a little higher-- However you will never catch me saying that people that limp PF cannot be decent winning players by any means, its just not my preferred style...

What bothers me about your numbers is % of hands gone to showdown. <30% is WAY too low, by pretty much all accounts of SH players (For some good info on SH #'s, 2+2 forums are pretty good). However, your BBs/100 are very respectable, so i dont want to tell you that you fold too much...However 2200 hands is a small sample, so it could be just that you are rushing, and still folding too much but still making good $,, or that you are getting obviously sucked out on an inordinate amount in this hand sample- I couldt tell ya. What i CAN tellya is that for SH play, anything under 34% for W/SD is too low, and that is also consistent with your 56% of showdowns won, which is very much on the high side. (should have over 50%, but over 55% almost always means you are folding too much)

Anyways, thats my take on your 2200 hands, which is totally unrepresentative but hey, im tryin over here! GL and be careful at them SH tables, they can cutcha up pretty good. One glance at my journal will make that pretty clear.

thanks for the heads up mecos, i know the SH hands is way to low. I was just concerned about the overall #s. Since i am relatily new to PT i dont have a par average to base on. Now when i did just do my auto rate player update it rated me as semi-loose/aggresive passive? WTF, and my slide just keeps continuing. I just cant catch a break with any thing it is very frustrating! Owell i guess i just have to keep grinding away and hope it gets better before i go broke.

thanks

Hello Pokerquest. A VIPIP of 25% is a little loose, even at the lower limits. You might try tightening up in early/mid positiion to try to get that VPIP down below 20%. The sLA-P rating makes sense in light of your stats (23/8/2.3) and the comments about folding too many rivers.

You're probably just experiencing normal varience. Don't get too preoccupied with your stats. Concentrate on making good decisions at the table and the stats will take care of themselves. When you get to 20,000 hands you can start to pay attention to your stats.

One thing: if you feel pressure about the money you can't play your best. Stay away from $1/$2 SH for now. Play 10K hands at $.50/$1 and then see how you're doing.
