I nearly folded this hand as I dislike calling raises with AQo out of position but there was a fish already in so I went ahead and ponied up the 5.00. The flop hit me pretty good but nowhere near safe. By the time the river gets there though i didn't have much to worry about.

Nice. Too bad he didn't have trips or you could have gotten more money out of him. I got the same feeling one time when I have KK, flop came 337 2 hearts, ep bets, i raise, I know he has flush draw, turn comes blank, he checks, i bet, he calls, river is a heart, he bets. However, its the K of hearts so I raise and take him for the last few bucks. He shows A9 of hearts in an arrogant manner, I show him my KK just as arrogantly. He flips his cards and leaves angerly about how I got so lucky.

I've made one royal at the Taj at a 5/10 table. I had KQ spades and hit the inside straight flush on the turn. I barely made anything because unless the board pairs, what else could these people really have? You have the deck slaughtered.

I have been very fortunate I suppose in hitting royal and straight flushes (I have actually lost with a straight flush!! in a 48 game at Binions several years ago). I have lost count of the number of royals I have made but it is somewhere in the neighborhod of 20. Of those only three came at live games. I do remember my first though. It was at the Mirage in a 4-8 Omaha H/L game so not as spectacular with 4 cards to work with but still ended with a nice pot. All my others have come in Holdem. It seems that I average 1 or 2 straight flushes a month online but I do put in alot of hands.
