Should I have not slowplayed? 6 max

Postby Pok 7's » Mon Aug 21, 2006 9:09 am

Don't have the HH because I was on Titan and PT dosen't support it but here's the hand. Generally I HATE to slowplay hands and usually make it a point to not. However I flopped the nuts here against only 2 opponents with no flush draws out there so I figured i'd give it a shot.

Hero is on BB with KJo
MP limps
Button Raises
Hero and MP call (rest of the table folded) (6 SB)

Flop: 9,Q,T (rainbow)
I flop the nut straight and I know the button will bet and the table tends to like to call down to the river with sh!t so I figure I'll try and keep people in.
Hero checks, MP checks, Button bets, Hero calls, MP calls (9 SB)

Turn: T (Naturally the board has to pair  ) 4.5 BB
Hero Bets, MP raises, button calls, Hero 3 bets, MP caps...Button: still comes along for the ride (16.5 BB)

Alright true he might have filled up here, however (my thoughts at the time) he can also be doing this with just trip 10's also and he probably would've raised 2 pair on the flop. SO I have MP on Tx at this point.

River: 6

Hero bets, MP raises Button calls, Hero calls

MP shows T6 and filled up with the river 6

My question is: Was this a bad time to try and slowplay a hand like this? My only other line was to CR the flop and hopefully drive MP out, but judging from his hand selection, and the fact that most people were goin to the SD with a piece of the flop I don't even know if it would've bumped him anyway.

So was it a horrible mistake to play it like this ot was it just an unlucky hand?
