The four bet move

What Up All
--

Im toasted right now just so ya'll know. So fuck you. Anyways the four bet move is pretty sweet, im a fan officially. So theres this godawful mizor right. Hes threebetting my raises a pretty fair amount, because i havent been able to catch a single fucking hand at the fucking table, and its just a fuck-the-guy-whose-running-bad-in-the-ass fest, right? It sucks but weve all been there, where no matter what, you miss. Anyways, i catch a hand or two, then i look down at a Q7 sooted in the UTG, and im like screw it i raise (since i thought i was getting some respect, etc). and shure enough the mizor 3 bets me. I decided this was the perfect time for the fourbet, since hed three bet me way too much ot have a hand every tiem he did it.

Dealt to AKsoGay [ 7d Qd ]
Tex_Longh0rn folds.
AKsoGay raises [$20].
kingjaji folds.
yellowtwo raises [$30].
Deceptitraan folds.
Spanishwine has been reconnected and has 14 seconds to act.
Spanishwine folds.
AKsoGay raises [$20].
yellowtwo calls [$10].
** Dealing Flop ** [ Ad, 2c, 2h ]
AKsoGay bets [$10].
yellowtwo folds.
AKsoGay does not show cards.
AKsoGay wins $103

So basically, i like the fourbetting move. It keeps the mizors honest, esp when they dont expect it (when your running bad, people think your playing weaktight, when actually you just cant catch a card or even a decent draw for the life of you)

What would you do here if he raised your flop bet. Can you continue and hope to get him off his hand if it goes to the turn?

BK--

In this case, if i remember the player right, he was pretty LAGgy buy not stupid. So what id have done probably is three bet him if he raised me, and if he called the 3 bet, id most likely have given up on the turn altogether, putting him on an ace or a PP that he was willing to call down with.

The absolute only eason id do this is because the guy was pretty tricky and pretty LAGgy. Against a solid player id muck to a raise immediately, but then again, against a solid player id never have 4 bet Q7s either. But i figured there was a pretty good chance that the guy who 3betted me had a hand like J10s or K9o, or some such raggedy holding, because he'd been mixin it up with me all too often.

The 10-20 SH games play like this, its kind of annoying and makes for alot of swings. I dont think id have popped the turn or anything ridiculous like that, because my read on his hand was far from good enough to lose a $250 pot by playing a Queen high all the way to showdown.

The extent of my read was basically 'hey, ya know? This fuck has 3 bet me the last 3-4 times i have raised. This little bastard thinks i am weak, apparently, and he's probly raising me with bullshit. So, im gonna jam it at him and see what he does.' A 'general feeling' read is not precise enough to justify losing 6BB with. Id have thrown a couple more bets his way, MAX, and thats it.

Hm. Yeah id have fired the turn at him, then given up. The board was bad enough that hes couldnt possibly be on any sort of credible draw, so i figure if he's calling the turn bet, he's goin all the way. Also, he had yet to see me fourbet PF. (its that new fourbet move that ive been talkin about seeing in the SH games alot these days, which i experimented with here), so I could imagine (maybe) peeling one off on the flop with a KQ, hoping to outdraw a PP i might have, or maybe with a 77, hoping to catch me for lots of bets by hittin his 2 outer, but assuming he was beat at the moment, etc... But I think id have had to give up if he called the turn.

The 4bet move worked perfectly here, only because the guy had seen me raise a fair amount, and call a 3 bet and show down stuff like AK and JJ, which i didnt fourbet with. Then, the guy makes his standard reraise at me and BAM he gets fourbet. It worked like a charm here because given what he'd seen of my play, i can pretty much guarantee you that guy would have laid down TT or less in that spot.

Not that im patting myself on the back or anything, because when all was said n done, finished the session down a whopping $1200- I think i was 33% with AA and KK combined that night. Gimme a Q7s though, and Ill fuck you in the *** with it sixteen times over! Whoohoo!
