The main reason I am posting this here beforehand is it will make me less likely to puss out at the last minute which I have been known to do. My wife has been yelling at me to play a WSOP event so this seems like a decent first step for me.
Any advice? The structure is pretty long so I think I can just play a cash-game type strategy until the later stages if I make it that far.
I played in my second-ever live NLHE event today - one of the Biniion's Classic events.
I wound up finishing 36 / 574 ITM so I'll get my name in Card Player when they post the results in a few days. That's kinda cool.

I am really not a good NLHE tourney player at all, but I think the solid limit background really helps the preflop play. I usually have a good feel for whether I am ahead or behind prefllop, which helps mask my postflop weaknesses at NLHE tourneys.
The hand I got knocked out on was pretty brutal:
I have an M of 7, two people limp (which was just stupid given the blinds), I push all in with

So OK, I got three-outered but now at least I have the nut flush draw and two other K outs

OK, now I pick up 3 more outs as any 10 makes a straight

But I had a good time so that's all that matters. Sorry about the brag post, I get the chance to brag so little- I hope it isn't too annoying. I am going to start playing more NLHE tourneys - it gives me the chance to play really aggressively which I enjoy but I have alot to learn.
