Waiting for the turn to C/R (SSHE Style) $2-$5 limit live

Postby Zuccala » Sun Jul 29, 2007 9:07 pm

Hey Guys,

This hand pissed me off for a while. It is almost to a T the example out of SSHE.

Hand #1
The CO is a Donk, he plays all hands and all the other players at the tables are CS and the chance of limp reraise is NONE!

EP limps $2 , MP limps $2, MP2 limps $2, CO raises to $4 and everyone else folds to me and I call with [7d][9d] then the rest all call.

flop: [4d][7s][9s] $20

I check (planning to C/r the turn because this is a VERY connected flop and for a C/R on the flop not too many people with fold) all else check to CO who bets $2 and we all call.

turn: [Qh] $30

I check, EP cheks., MP bets $5 and CO raises to $10, I folded. I think this was very weak. Something came over me (weakness) and I dropped it fearing Q9s ,Q7s, or even Q4s. As I have been seing these hands all day. Turns out I would have won the hand. Should I have made it $15. I think I should have. What do you guys think about waiting for the turn to C/R? Was this flop not connected enough?

Hand #2

This hand just pisses me off more than anything else. Is there anything I should have done diferently.

I get [Ac][8c] OTB. and raise after 5 limpers

flop [2s][Ah][8d] $24

Eps Bets and all call including me (waiting to raise when the double bet comes)

turn: [9h] $26

all check to MP, I raise $10, all fold to EP and he calls $10 and MP calls $5

river:[5d] $56

Ep bets $5, MP folds and I call $5 and he flip [7h][6h]

Is there anything that I shjould have changed here? Should I have popped it on the flop? would it have mattered? I am very rusty after this long layoff and need all the help iI van get. I seem to be killing this game at the moment ($30hr for 25hrs). I know this is a hot streak but I need to cleanup my play as it is horrible sometimes,

Thanks

Just go ahead and c/r the flop, imo. You have the perfect spot in this large pot to force the field to call 2 right now. And while the board is coordinated, it is not overly so where there are tons of cards which will likely kill your hand (like holding T8 on a JT8 2-tone board). Also, perhaps most importantly, the CO will often not bet the turn with unimproved overcards, or if a scare card hits....and that would make you very sad indeed.

Just pop the flop.
