Wow, have the games gotten to that point?

Postby Pok 7's » Thu Apr 12, 2007 9:15 am

So I found a post over on 4 about the new book that finaly came out which I was considering purchasing. "Winning in tough LHE games" it's written by 2 well known players from "4". What I found to be amazing is the WR that they're talking about. Here's a clip from the review:

"It is both refreshing and sobering to see the actual win rates of the authors. Stox winrate is described as .82BB/100 over his last 300,000 hands. The other databases from which numbers are derived feature even more modest success."

Wow, are the days of having a WR of 1.5-2 BB/100 gone?

Full review of the book is here http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showf ... ost9877088

BTW I know this isn't the book review section, but what te hell. If the remianing 3 other LHE players here complain feel free to move it :) .

I think Ant was referring to 10c/20c? If he wasn't, the point would be that .5BB/100 at 100/200 is worth a lot more than 2BB/100 at 2/4.

I heard an interview with this guy not too long ago right before the book was due out. I think it was on "Rounders." Maybe the name is wrong but it's a radio/podcast out of Canada.
