25NL line check 6-max

Postby Thxlbx » Sun Sep 16, 2007 1:48 am

I normally would fold here, but I had not played a hand in a couple of orbits, and the guy in the bb had done nothing but check or call all session. Should I have bet more on the turn or river? I did not think he would call a push on the river, so I bet about two-thirds of the pot. Villian used the max amount of time before calling.

I think you played this hand really well.

He obviously has a hand better than a pair of aces with a 6 kicker on the flop, you have no fold equity, so pushing is a bad idea. His pitiful raise gives you great odds to chase your flush, so chase away.

Most of the time a villain will turn up with A2 or 22 here, maybe a smaller flush draw. Reraising the flop does you no good.

This hand is a great example of why you should bet your strong draws.

Poker is silly.

It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.

Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.
