98o flop two-pair on a straight board

Postby Stoneburg » Wed Jul 20, 2005 3:28 pm

Loose Prima table. Majak in the SB is a semi-loose (vpip: 27) aggressive player who breaks even according to my PT, "play5" is new to the table so no read other than he bought in short. Majak has a little over the buy in, play5 has $10, I have them covered.

If he had the flush he wouldn't have checked behind on the turn, if he has JT he would have popped me sooner, I can't see him playing any hand with a J or a 6 here... but what the HELL would he cold-call a bet and a raise with on the flop?! I can't figure out what he has, but this is a call, right?

I think you played it reasonable. Two pair on such a coordinated board is not the greatest thing, so I wouldn't push it too hard. You checked the turn because he could have made his flush, on the river he's getting another straight card. I would have called the river bet just to see what he played there, and make a note of that.

If you did win and wonder if you could make more money, I don't think you can push this hand too much.
