All in on flop against a preflop min raiser

Postby briachek » Fri Jun 17, 2005 11:11 pm

His min raise preflop tells me nothing as he could be doing it with a variety of hands. Are you ready to push this hand after that flop? It was either a very good or very bad flop for me. What if he had more money rather than just the $20?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $0.5 BB (10 handed)

UTG+2 ($80.43)
MP1 ($59.87)
MP2 ($75.7)
MP3 ($22.93)
Hero ($49.92)
Button ($50.55)
SB ($65.75)
BB ($40.94)
UTG ($28.2)
UTG+1 ($65.55)

Preflop: Hero is CO with [Kd], [Ks].
UTG raises to $1, 3 folds, MP2 calls $1, 1 fold, Hero raises to $4, 3 folds, UTG calls $3, MP2 folds.

Flop: ($9.75) [7c], [7s], [9c] (2 players)
UTG bets $3, Hero raises to $12, UTG raises to $24.2 (All-In), Hero calls $12.20.

Turn: ($58.15) [3s] (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: ($58.15) [Kc] (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: $58.15

Results in white below:
UTG has 5c Ac (flush, ace high).
Hero has Kd Ks (full house, kings full of sevens).
Outcome: Hero wins $58.15.

He must have loved to see that club til he saw the money slide my way.

My computer has developed a stutter caused by added stress brought on by multiple bad beats

And yes, I think he could have AA there. A min raise preflop is very scary against alot of fools.

Im not folding KK to a min raise, but I wouldnt be surprised to see AA.

In the case that he has AA, what are you going to do? I'd have made him eat those rags pre-flop, but you got more out of him than I would have...

What kind of muppet raises UTG with A5s? And MIN-raises at that.

If he had me stacked I would still be all in on the flop if necessary... The only hands I can see him reasonably having that beat me now are 78s, A7s, AA and 99, and so be it I will go broke with the cowboys if he has one of those. Learning what your opponents minimum raise means preflop will eliminate two of those hands. I would most likely expect to see JJ or TT turned over a majority of the time..
