All-ins with 3 to Flush Board

Postby T-Rod » Thu Jul 07, 2005 9:08 pm

I had two crazy hands last night that were two hands apart. I have no real reads on the other players. What would you do?

HAND 1--Call or Not?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 6 handed)

Button ($74.95)
SB =#A500AF(Villian 1)/ ($100)
BB ($35.62)
UTG ($113.17)
Hero ($114.9)
CO ($89.09)

Preflop: Hero is MP with [7c], [Qc]. SB =#A500AF(Villian 1)/ posts a blind of $0.5.
1 fold, Hero calls $1, CO calls $1, 1 fold, SB =#A500AF(Villian 1)/ (poster) completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($4) [Jc], [8c], [2c] (4 players)
Villian 1 bets $4, BB calls $4, Hero raises to $13, CO folds,

Villian 1 is all in for $95
Villian 2 goes all in for another $30.62

Pot is 149.1

It's my turn. Call?

-------------------------------------------------------------------
HAND 2--

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (6 max, 6 handed)

MP ($89.8)
CO ($65.34)
Button ($77.24)
SB =#A500AF(Villian 2)/ ($112.17)
Hero ($100.9)
UTG =#A500AF(Villian 1)/ ($87.09)

Preflop: Hero is BB with [2h], [5h]. SB =#A500AF(Villian 2)/ posts a blind of $0.5.
UTG =#A500AF(Villian 1)/ calls $1, 3 folds, SB =#A500AF(Villian 2)/ (poster) completes, Hero checks.

Flop: ($3) [2s], [9s], [5s] (3 players)
Villian 2 bets $4, Hero raises to $8, Villian 1 calls $8, Villian 2 raises to $20, Hero calls $12, Villian 1 calls $12.

Turn: ($63) [7h]

Villian 1 goes allin for 91.17
V2 acts after me

Call?

Fold to both! No doubts for me.

What were the results?

Edit: Forgot to see that these were 6-handed tables, thought they were 10 max. Now it makes it a bit more interesting!?!?!?

Hand2: DEFINATE fold, I'd be getting as far away from that hand as I could as fast as I could.

Hand 1: That's some crazy action, but I don't see folding this, you've flopped the third nut flush and there was no raise pre-flop, maybe some people who would fold it, but I can't see it happening.

In Hand 1 I folded angrily. I didn't have a read and two allins made me believe that at lease one of them had A or K. If i had it to do over, I'd certainly have called.

As it turns out, yep I shoulda called as they were both pushing TP and good K. Grr

Hand 2 happened two hands later and I completely misplayed it. Seeing these yahoos go allin on a flush board with TP made me immediately peg them for maniacs, and I was pissed at my prevous fold. Now 2 hands later, the same thing, a flush board and an all-in by one of the maniacs. I call with top 2 pair (I would normally have folded this) and of course, you guessed it, he actually flopped it this time. Stack loser.

Lost 1/2 of my rebuy stack 20 hands later as he called 2 pot sized bets to draw at a flush vs. my top two pair in a raised pot (he called with an SC and had nothing till the river). Of course he hit. I left the room

This is my biggest problem. The maniac who gets lucky and I allow it to take me off my game. I'm gonna call JJSCOTT next time.

If you're going to fold Q7s when you flop a flush, you shouldn't be playing it. (Personally, I never play it, but I don't play 6-handed.)

Agreed. I don't usually play it either except against the maniacs but then why fold? I chalk this up to me being on inverted Tilt and just flat playing stupid

I hate Q7s and would not playing it, but Im calling here. The deep stack is not going to raise all in with the nut flush. The short stack might have it, but you HAVE THE DEEP STACK BEAT. Hes protecting his hand by pushing. If the short stack has the nut flush you still win a sweet pot. You have to call there.

Hand #2 I dont like and I fold to the reraise.

of course, I agree with iceman here. Do you really think that all of you have the flush or someone would push so hard with the nuts? I think you would at least be winning the side pot.

Second hand, too many hands have you in trouble there. Plus, I hate min raises and only do it under certain circumstances so I can't fault this one too much but this guy doesn't care and reraised you anyway. Fold.
