The best way to stack up here is to lead out on the flop, IMO. If you're putting him on KK/QQ type hand, your smooth call won't have him thinking aces, and your lead out the size of the pot will make him think a weaker overpair. Lead out for $40 on the flop and you'll get his stack more often than not. Even if he just calls you down and you follow it with a pot bet on the turn..... don't you still get his stack? I'm confused as to why you don't want him calling down.

If you think that by leading out on this flop, you'll get your opponnent to fold on the turn when a blank hits, I think you're giving your opponnents way too much credit. A lead out on the flop screams 9's or 10's IMO.

General rule of NL: The best way to play your premium hands when first to act is to bet out. Any good player knows what a check-raise means. You'll get your opponnent to fold his K's MUCH more often by check-raising any street than you will by betting out.

The plan was to check/call the flop and then check raise the turn. He would be pot committed at that point and wouldnt be able to fold KK. But then the king hit the turn and things went haywire.

I doubt that he would check behind me at the turn either. If he has KK, he has to think he has me drawing to 2 outs and that Ill call him down with what he probably thinks is TT or JJ since I had an overpair.

So when he bets the turn (probably 1/2 to 3/4 pot), hes in too deep to fold.

The pot is $43. The flop is all rags. I bet $30..he raises to $100..I push all in....He has a much better chance of finding a fold here dont you think?. The pot is $173 and I push another $330 making it another $160 to him.

This is basically the same way you would play a set in a raised pot. You lead into him hoping he will raise and you can push. Doesnt a good player see this coming and raise and fold to an all in?

Maybe Im giving him too much credit.

Today I raised to $10 with AA. I got reraised to $36. I didnt want this to happen again so I pushed all in preflop. The stacks werent as big this time but we did both have full $200 stacks. The guy folded and said he had QQ. If I just call and a King or Q hits I have the same problem. Im not sure which is the better line.

check/raise all in on the flop.. i rather do that then allow him to make a play at me later.. and if he has a KK QQ JJ it might look like your trying to buy the pot and he might call which has more than enough ev in it to win a ton of money... only time i ever consider folding AA is if it is multiway pot and people are being extremely agressive.
