The best way to stack up here is to lead out on the flop, IMO. If you're putting him on KK/QQ type hand, your smooth call won't have him thinking aces, and your lead out the size of the pot will make him think a weaker overpair. Lead out for $40 on the flop and you'll get his stack more often than not. Even if he just calls you down and you follow it with a pot bet on the turn..... don't you still get his stack? I'm confused as to why you don't want him calling down.
If you think that by leading out on this flop, you'll get your opponnent to fold on the turn when a blank hits, I think you're giving your opponnents way too much credit. A lead out on the flop screams 9's or 10's IMO.
General rule of NL: The best way to play your premium hands when first to act is to bet out. Any good player knows what a check-raise means. You'll get your opponnent to fold his K's MUCH more often by check-raising any street than you will by betting out.
