Anyone worried here?

Postby iceman5 » Thu May 15, 2008 5:50 am

$1/$2 NL

MP raises $7. I call with [Js][Jc]. SB also calls.

Pot $23. Flop [Ks][Jd][8c]. They both check to me. I bet $20. SB calls.
Pot $63. Turn [9s]. SB checks, I bet $40. He check raises all in. Its like $150 to me.

Instacall? Or is anyone worried?

I dunno, I may be a little worried but I don't see how you could ever fold here. I think alot of hands KJ, 88, 99, even things like AT, AQs would play like this.

I agree. I am a little bit worried but not enough to prevent me from shoving. 3 hands beat you right now and against two of those you have 10 outs. You are crushing everything else especially since the flush draw only has 7 outs. Even [As] [Ts] only has 13 outs. Shove all day.

5 mins after this hand I raised TT and got called twice. Flop was [Ts][7d][6s]. SB led out full pot. I raised pot and he shoved in. THAT time I yelled "dont suck out on me"...which he did with his [5s][4s].

This time I was afraid this guy had QT, so I called and said "please dont have QT". He , of course, had QT and I yelled.."pair the board"..which of course didnt happen.

Thing is you wouldn't expect a decent player to mess around on that flop if he has a set or 2 pair on the flop - he might go for the C/R, but that board is too scary to slowplay with a check-call for most. Of course if he is slowplaying a set on the flop he is 50/50 to have you beat.

So that means he like the 9.
I suppose he could be a donk with [As][Qs] or have hit a set with 99. Does he raise from MP with K9 or J9? I'd figure maybe only if suited.
Like you I sit and look at that action and QT just looks like a big part of his range.

Let's figure what hands make him really like that 9...
He has 3 ways to make 99, 1 way to make J9s, 3 ways to make K9s and fully 16 ways to make QT.

Even adding a few 'Xaston' pushes to his range and noting the money in the pot (and your 20% cahnce to suck out) I'm not sure I hate a fold here.

That said, at the table, I'm making that crying call 100% of the time...
