Be glad your opponents refuse to fold; if they didn't, you just might go broke.

Million and a half or so I think is what it probably is.

Im guessing about 350,000 - 400,000 per year times 4-5 years or so. Its all just a guess though.

If you're saying a guy with only a basic understanding of math who's acquired good instincts through experience can win a lot more than a math whiz who plays like a bot, you're probably right. Knowing the math doesnt mean you use the right variables (or even the right math itslef) in various situations.

The problem i have with your article is it presupposes that experience. Its completely unhelpful to learning players. It really seems more like a defense of 'the Iceman way' than providing insight we can use in our learning.

Sure you can become a great player without learning the math, but its going to be a hell of lot harder that with and you're going to essentially learn by paying for mistakes over and over. Plus you may internalize fundamentally unsound habits if the cards run skewed and you arent analyzing the results from an objective viewpoint, which math does. If you can do a little math you've saved yourself some of that time, money, and stress. Why would you ever ignore such a powerful tool?

When I play a patient and relaxed game I win - that simple.

I didnt start to win again. Ive always been winning. I was just winning at a lower rate than I was used to after UIGEA and it frustrated me to no end. I changed a few things like making these big calls that I used to fold because I was too much of a nit.

If Cake is soooooo easy, why arent you all playing there? I know full well that my win rate at Cake is higher than anywhere else. I also know its higher than just about all the other regulars. When I play at Full Tilt, my win rate is lower but still at the top range if the regulars. It doesnt take a genius to tell that makes me one of the better players. Im also smart enough to play at the easier site. I guess some people cant play without a HUD so they dont play at Cake, which makes me happy believe me. Thats the main reason Cake IS easier.

My total number of hands is a guess because Ive changed DB's numerous times over the years and Ive changed computers several times. Why would I count the exact number of hands over a 4-5 period? I dont care about it that much.

Im also not bad at math. My HS had the biggest graduating class in the history of the US (at that time). 1616 was the number. It was a big school. I was the 2nd person ever allowed to take Algebra II and Trig at the same time. My older brother was the 1st. So Im pretty good at math. I just never went beyond calculus so I dont have an education in higher math like alot of you do.
