Bad lay down?

Postby justin984 » Sat Jul 23, 2005 6:38 am

I just started playing the 6 seater .25 .50c tables on UB and this hand recently came up. I am by no means a good short handed player, I just started and I'm wondering if these kind of plays are common. I was UTG with QQ and raised to 2 dollars, everyone folded except the cutoff who reraised to five and the button who went all in for 40. I folded figuring I was up against KK or AA or at the very least AK. The cutoff called and turned up K10o and the button showed 77. The pocket pair took the pot. In a full ring game I would fold QQ to an all in most of the time, but I'm questioning my play here. Is QQ good enough to push most of the time shorthanded?

There is no easy answer....

Most of my decision making is based on their previous play, and how big of a yahoo I think they are. There are people that I won't call all-in with out AA/KK and those that 99 starts looking good. The more wild and aggressive the table is the bigger QQ looks to me even though it will likely be played for more money than I like.
