big allin on the flop. call or fold?

Postby kennyg » Wed Jul 13, 2005 1:06 am

2/4NL
this was 3 handed after the table broke up. Both guys weren't very good players.

I'm dealt 75o in the BB. Everyone calls.

FLOP $12
[8c][9c][6s]

I bet $12. Opponent on the button raises his whole stack of around $300.

call or fold?

Call. It sucks if you lose, but three handed, I don't thiink I could ever fold this hand.

Gotta call. If you get outdrawn so be it, but you most likely have the best hand now at a 3:1 advantage.

Ok just confirming I'm not crazy.

I called and show T7o of course. Rediculous.

Damn, I would have called, too, I feel sure, although $300 into a $24 pot? Unless this guy has a habit of "making moves," I really think it's correct to fold it.

The other option is to call, then explain what a horrible play it is ever to play T7 and that it's even worse to overbet a pot like that... :)

Honestly, while that's quite a hand to lay down, I really do think a lot would depend on how the game is playing, how likely it is that this might be a frustration bluff or something like that.

I didn't think he was bluffing.

He was a weak player...and I thought he was trying to protect something like two pair, set, or an overpair.
