A big laydown today

1-2 NL on PokerStars

I call a raise with 77 out of the blind from an EP player who I have played 90 hands with, his VP is 20 his PFR is 5 and his PFA is 3.5...adding these numbers to his style of play I know he is someone to watch out for but I cant fold a medium pair for a typical size raise. I hope to bust him with this hand if it hits right but this is what happens:

We both have $200 in front (another sign of a good player, he keeps re-upping when he loses) Flop comes K 9 9, 2 clubs, I check, pretty much done with the hand, but he checks too. Turn is a nice looking 7. I make a weak lead, betting $10 into this $18 pot. River is a jack. Board reads K 9 9 7 J, no flush. I bet $30. He moves all in for the rest of his chips, about $150 more. I think and think and think. He didnt raise me on the turn so I dont think he just has a 9. That smooth call on the flop really set off alarms. What can he have? I figure the only hand I can beat is a total bluff or AA. I folded and he showed KK.

Wow...that was almost as good of a feeling as winning a big pot! I ended up a small loser for the day but felt good about it.

good flops

Yoga, nice laydown, but this guy played a nut FH HORRIBLE... How could he not raise the turn??? He couldn't have expected you to call that hugh river raise with anything but what you actually did have, or quad 9s...Any other hand is almost an instafold... Even if a flush card would've fallen on the river, and I had a flush, I probably would've folded w/ the paired board... If he would've raised the turn, it may have pot committed you a little more to call the river, plus it would've hidden his hand a little better...

Nice. I probably would have lost my money.

yep. mvp is right. i just wanted to know who plays a full house like that.
Not many players at 1/2 will make that big a river raise.

If you don't want to tell who it was, that's ok
