Button rasie vs blind defense prefered line?

Postby Pok 7's » Fri May 16, 2008 3:07 pm

Didn't really have a lot of stats on this villian I have him at 80 hands and playing 25/19/2.5 and have seen him do a fair amount of 3 betting PF. My feelings were he was making a re steal.

My problem was I wasn't sure what the best way to play it was. My thoughts were if he's raising light 3 betting him might just blow him off his hand. If I flat him and raise any flop I'm going to get more out of him when he likely Cbets.

Is this the best line? The only reason I ask is I've recently started playing on Stars and noticed there has been a bit more 3 betting PF than I've usually seen and am trying to figure out the best ways to deal with it. Here's how I played it.

$0.5/$1 No Limit Holdem
6 players
Converted at

Stacks:
UTG Dima0618 ($141.30)
UTG+1 evantair ($108.05)
CO Hero ($97.00)
BTN James1973 ($67.45)
SB VDeezy ($99.00)
BB TheDarkJoker ($137.35)

Pre-flop: ($1.5, 6 players) Hero is CO [Ad][Ah]
Dima0618 calls $1, 1 fold, Hero raises to $4, 2 folds, TheDarkJoker raises to $15, Dima0618 folds, Hero calls $11

Flop: [Kh][8c][Js] ($31.5, 2 players)
TheDarkJoker bets $23.1, Hero raises to $82, TheDarkJoker folds

Final Pot: $136.6

Hero wins $133.6 ( won +$36.6 )
TheDarkJoker lost -$38.10
Dima0618 lost -$1.00

Min raise him with air. Sounds retarded but it works. Hes folding QQ or worse every time.
