A closer look at my Pt database

Postby Rhound50 » Tue May 31, 2005 1:57 am

Ok so I went back and examined my PT database numbers and it looks like Ax suited in a huge leak in my game,

Hand bb/100
AJ 5.04
A10 -3.56
A9 -2.02
A8 -1.01
A7 -3.66
A6 +1.74
A5 +.74
A4 -1.08
A3 +.16
A2 -1.73

I have played these hands 308 times and made a flush only 8 times which seems about right for an average, since you make the flush about 3% of the time. I have been trying to play these hands only in late postion in an unraised pot. This is a major leak in my game, I have lost about $250 in total playing these hands, this is a really major leak since I have only made about $600 in this time. Any advice, anything else I should be looking at??

Are you calling raises with them? Over defending top pair with them? Limping in EP with them?

I would think those are the variables that would make these 'losing hands.'

Personally I raise them up from LP (certainly the A8s and above unles rocks have come in ahead) and limp from MP.
I bet the draws strongly (disguise them to win big pots if hit and and win small pots if no-one has anything). The other benefit to betting the draws is that folks with made hands often only min re-raise giving you odds to call and then slow down on the turn giving you good odds again.

I don't call raises with them unless enough callers to make it worth it for the flush draw alone (very unlikely)

I'm well up on A9-A2s (and AJs and ATs winnning too) - so you might try a little more aggression I think.
