Correct play even tho scary board?

Another stackbuster? SB is a sLAG (VP 33 PFR 5 PFA 2.8)

Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.25 BB (10 handed)

UTG+1 ($13.70)
UTG+2 ($13.05)
MP1 ($31.45)
MP2 ($11)
MP3 ($27.55)
CO ($24.15)
Button ($22.45)
SB ($16.50)
BB ($34.50)
Hero ($23.95)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with [8d], [8h].
Hero calls $0.25, 3 folds, MP2 raises to $1.1, 3 folds, SB calls $1, BB calls $0.85, Hero calls $0.85.

Flop: ($4.40) [9h], [6h], [8s] (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero checks, MP2 bets $1.9, SB raises to $10.1, BB folds, Hero goes all-in for $22.85, MP2 folds, SB calls all-in for $15.40.

Turn: ($35.25) [7h]

River: ($35.25) [4h]

Final Pot: $16.40

Results in white below:
Hero has 8d 8h
SB has Kh Jh
SB wins $35.25 with flush, king high.

I figured with all the action on the flop that his raise was too high to be a made hand and was trying to raise people out of the pot. He would surely have raised with 99 PF so I knew he didn't have a set and as I said it didn't feel right for him to have flopped a straight so I correctly put him on a flush draw knowing if he hit I still had 10 outs.
But was this the correct play. Is his raise enough reason to be scared off?

you played it fine......you can't be afraid of the straight. 10-7 is a pretty impossible holding even for 33% VP$iP, and 5-7 is technically possible but unlikely. so....you correctly put him on a flush draw....over which you are a significant favorite (he has 8 outs....with you having 8h), so he's approximately 33% to hit a heart by the river and maybe an extra 2% or 3% to hit runner-runner-straight. and you make your redraw to the boat roughly 35% of the 35% of the times he makes a hand.

you got your money in as a significant favorite.....why should you be scared off? are you ever really going to fold a set to a flop raise by a drawing hand?

How did SB raise to $10.1 and then call all in for $15.40 when he started with $16.50?

You need to lead into the raise with that flop and hope like hell that he raises to get all those draw-ers out of there.

With a flush draw out there, with possible straight draws out there, you HAVE to lead into that flop, you cannot afford to risk any free cards. Bet pot or over the pot there.

If everyone checked it around, the turn completed 4 to a straight, and the flush draw, so the action would have been completely killed. Slowplay is dangerous on this type of board.

lead out and hope MP1 raises to get the draws out or make them pay dearly.
