Dodged 2 draws

Postby AlamdeaMike » Tue Jul 19, 2005 11:54 am

Here is a draw in reverse. I dodged 2 draws to win a nice pot - My heart was in my throat so to speak.

On the turn I had a 57% chance to win (after the fact). The pot was $299 and I out in $102.

I could have been up aginst a made flush and drawing dead. Lucky. Pair the board or a spade and I know that I am dead in the water.

Who likes this call and who does not?

Thanks

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (8 handed)

CO ($235.50)
Button ($479.50)
Hero ($102.70)
BB ($78)
UTG ($91.75)
UTG+1 ($78)
MP1 ($53.70)
MP2 ($43.35)

Preflop: Hero is SB with [Tc], [Jh].
UTG calls $2, UTG+1 calls $2, 2 folds, CO calls $2, 1 fold, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($10) [9s], [Qs], [8s] (5 players)
Hero bets $12, BB calls $12, UTG folds, UTG+1 calls $12, CO calls $12.

Turn: ($58) [Th] (4 players)
Hero bets $88.7 (All-In), BB calls $64 (All-In), UTG+1 folds, CO calls $88.70.

River: ($299.40) [Kd] (3 players, 2 all-in)

Final Pot: $299.40
Main Pot: $250, between CO, Hero and BB. > Pot won by Hero ($250).
Pot 2: $49.40, between CO and Hero. > Pot won by Hero ($49.40).

Results in white below:
Hero has Tc Jh (straight, king high).
BB has Qd Ks (two pair, kings and queens).
CO has 8d 8h (three of a kind, eights).
Outcome: Hero wins $299.40.
Don't lose your entire stack in an unraised pot or with only one pair.
