Good notes

Postby iceman5 » Tue Feb 15, 2005 10:49 am

$1/$2 NL at Gaming Club.
UTG raises to $5, UTG+1 calls. Im the BB and have [As][Ad].

I have notes on UTG that say
"raised $5 with KK UTG, raise $10 QQ, raise $10 AK"

Ok, I think he has KK. I reraise to $12 and he reraises to $26.
OK, Now I KNOW he has KK. UTG+1 folds.

I could reraise again but I dont want to give it away. I started he hand with $250 and he has me covered.

The pot is $58. The flop comes [Ah][Ks][4s] with 2 spades. Holy set over set Batman!
I bet $30 and he calls.

Pot $118. The turn is the [8s]. Im 99% sure he has KK so the flush doesnt worry me. I think he has 1 out. I bet $50 and he calls

Pot $218. The river is a blank..no spade. I push all in. He says "I have KK, cant fold" and he calls. Cha-Ching!

This wasnt the toughest hand in the world to play. It was rather easy actually, but it shows the relevance of keeping good notes and having good reads.

This is one of those hands where you wish you could play out of you pocket and maybe have him buy in some more money.

Another good point from this is to change the amount you raise with big hands. It wouldnt have mattered in this situation probably but he ceratinly has a nice tell, that Ice can milk.

Later in the day, there were 5 limpers in a hand and the same guy raised to $5. Guess what he had?

He got busted again!

This example shows very well that one has to change the way of playing specific hands from time to time. I think it was Doyle Brunson who said that he never plays the same hand like before.
