Guess the hands -- can you think like a fish?

Postby k3nt » Mon Feb 21, 2005 10:26 am

Can you think like a fish? C'mon, it's good practice. (For what? Umm, I'm not sure.)

Hero is Small Fish; Villain is Big Fish.

10c/20c NL at Gaming Club. Hero has $35 in the BB, Villain has $15 in MP.

Preflop: several limps to Hero, Hero raises to $1.50, called only by Villain.

Pot $3.50. Flop: [7h][8d][Tc]

Hero bets $4. Villain calls.

Pot $11.50. Turn: [7h][8d][Tc] ... [Jh]

Hero bets $22, a very strange amount, putting the Villain more than all-in. Villain calls.

River doesn't matter. Hero wins the hand.

Guess the hands!!

Take your best shot -- think like the fish!

Excellent guesses, all. But not fishy enough! Except Felonious' last guess, all of your guesses make sense with the cards that are on the table! To think like a true fish, you must avoid noticing the cards on the table. (It requires almost zen-like focus. ) :)

And, OK, it wasn't fair to ask anybody to try to guess this, because it's completely unguessable. The cards & bets tell you nothing at all. (Except my preflop & flop bets which are normal.)

I had KK. He called me down with 44.

No, seriously.

My all-in overbet on the turn was a misclick. I was trying to decide between a bet of about $2.00 and a check, and somehow hit the slider while I was thinking. I was seriously pissed at myself, especially when he called.

But Mr. Big Fish, wow! How on earth can you call that with 44? Any 7, 8, 9, T, or J beats you, as well as the overpair I was representing with my first two bets. His only chance was that I was on AK I suppose.

He disappeared from the table before I could get his name into my fish book unfortunately.
