Party PL $200. Folded to me on $197 in the SB, BB has $181. I raise to $6 with [Qh] and the BB calls rather quickly.

No read on BB whatsoever (PT classified him as TP-A, that's a little mouse icon, after the session - but you don't know this during the hand, remember).

So, 2 players, $11.40 in the pot and the flop comes [Ts][7s]. I bet $11.4 and the BB insta-min-raises to $22.80. Now, I'm about 3-1 up in hands where I've been min-raised on Party lately, though mostly with a better read on my opponent. But the insta-bit made me think he didn't respect my hand, so I could well be ahead here.

Raise, call, or fold here? I called, but could be convinced of either of the other options!

Decision time. What's your line for the rest of the hand? eg:
(0) Lead. What if he calls? raises?
(1) Check fold
(2) Check raise
(3) Check call, call down any river not containing an A, K, 5, spade, or club (!)
(4) Check call, lead any river *containing* a 5, spade or club?

If he checks behind, what cards do you lead out on? What cards do you check call on? If you check, assume he bets the pot (this is pot limit, after all!)

I don't mind the call on the flop as long as you are willing to throw out a big turn bet. If you call his flop raise and check the turn, you are basically giving up the pot - unless you are willing to invest a whole lot more than necessarily to find out whether he has you beat or not (with a checkraise). Make a big bet and fold to a raise, and if he calls, check the river and hope he checks behind.

I checked ... hoping that his turn bet would give me some information (probably the worst reason for checking!). Of course, he just potted it, and I was no further forward.

As SF pointed out, the fact I called with no draws meant that I felt I was ahead on the flop, and the turn changed nothing.

So after yet more hesitation I check-raised all-in. He thought for ages then folded ... presumably he had a reasonable J?

MG - (why) do you prefer calling the flop then betting the turn (over reraising the flop)? What range of hands is that more effective against?

Presumably villain's range of hands is something like JJ, TT, JT, 77, 89s vs A-QJ, KQ, [Qs], [9s]. Possibly [Ks], AA, KK?

If I'd reraised the flop as SF suggested, and he'd just called ... I think I'd have pushed the turn on any reasonably safe card (ie putting him on a draw). Would that have been a better line than the one I took?
