How does .25/.50NL play vs. .50/1.00NL or 1/2NL?

Postby GeoC » Sat May 21, 2005 10:16 am

First a little update. I've been using most of excession's advice with some minor mods of my own on the .25/.50NL game. I play 3 tables and have been making about $10/hr or a little over $3/per table per hour. I've won 8 months in a row and this is doesn't include bonus money.

I wondered if I stepped up my levels a bit and played the same strategy, if I could make more and if so, how much more?

thanks,

$3/hr on a $50NL table is 6BBs per hour or about 10BBs/100 hands (5PTBBs)

Thats a respectable (good) win rate but not outstanding.

Its good enough to start trying out the $100NL tables on occassion, but I would do it on weekends and in the evenings when the play is at its worst.

Keep playing your normal games at other times and when you get 5K hands or so at the $100NL game, you can check your numbers and see how they look. You need more than 5K for a true win rate but its a good start to see if you are ready to move up full time.
