A few things...

1. I wll nev rmae a pre-flop raise to 5x the big blind with 4's especially if im not the button. B/C if i don't take the pot down pre-flop and i don't flo my set (2 outs) Im pretty much screwed and have to fold to any reasonable bet. When I do flop my set I dont mind checking/calling if the flop is an unconnected rainbow, I sort of want to disguise my hand...if that was the case I would bet, or re-raise the turn....

But it's not the case you have 2 draws out there (straight- which could already be made...and the flush draw is out there) So I would make a re-raise, to about the size of the pot, if I get called I'm against flush draw made straight or drawing one, or some guy who wont let go of an over pair.... Although you were way ahead in this hand I really expected to see that you got beat by a straight. It does suck when some one hits like that on you but you need to be in there betting that flop hard. because you want to avoid out-draws....

good luck

I dont like your play at all. Dont worry, the cutoff's play is absolutely horrible.

Preflop.....Raising 5BBs in EP with 44 doesnt make any sense. Its spwewing chips for no reason.

Flop. Once you hit a set, you have to raise this big time. There are multiple draws. You have to make people pay dearly to draw.

thanks ice, thats what i was thinking, i was trying to keep the CO in the hand, since he had a decent stack. hindsight being what it is, he would have called a raise on the flop if he called what i did raise on the turn.
