J9s BB.....hows my line? 25NL 6 max

Postby iwanturcoin » Fri Sep 14, 2007 9:04 am

Played this yesterday, i'm pretty sure i'm gonna hear some fold pre-flops here and I would agree but it was a min raise and ..... i did'nt. That aside what do you think of the line here?? Villain was 64/10 after 49 hands and started the hand with $12.62. How would you play this?

I don't mind the line at all, as long as you have no problem folding when you hit a middle pair or are re-raised hard with top pair. If he had limped his range would be huge, but he did raise, and he only raises 10% of the time...only 49 hands, but that would lean towards a high pocket pair or maybe AK or AQ. I would have probably played it the same way, betting out on the flop to represent top pair. Since you are the big blind you hand range should be fairly wide.

Remember to post the stake and handedness in the title of your post.

The hand looks fine to me as played.

Leading the flop would be good if the flush draw was not out there.

I know sometimes you need to give up on the turn using this line, however you often take down the pot uncontested, it allows you to lead with sets and not be easily exploitable and you are far more likely to get paid off when you hit your straight if you lead the flop.
