As I said to H2T I really dont think Townsend can really be on a an Ace here, I guess its possible but it seems unlikely enough that AA and KK seem like almost the same hand. John having AA makes it even more unlikely that he is on AK/AQ. Having AA here should be make it easier to fold the river though like I said still a really really tough hand.

that's pretty brutal, but he has to call and see the case J. Otherwise guys can bluff him to death on the river. We know that Brian will represent a good hand sometimes, he was probably praying JJ had an A and would have called thinking that Brian might have had AK or AQ and he was calling for a chop to get his $ back.

I do agree that sometimes shoving the nuts is the best play. If you have A* here, are you folding, knowing that Brian may very well have A* also?
