TP King Kicker against a maniac

Postby briachek » Thu May 26, 2005 11:33 am

Poker Tracker had his PFA at 14 after about 80 hands so he's a maniac after the flop. He's also in 25% of flops and raises 11% preflop. I guess he didn't want to raise this time.

Party Poker Pot-Limit Hold'em, $0.5 BB (10 handed)

UTG ($48.35)
UTG+1 ($48.5)
UTG+2 ($71.3)
MP1 ($56.3)
MP2 ($48.25)
MP3 ($64.8)
CO ($24.5)
Button ($42.55)
Hero ($49.5)
BB ($86.55)

Preflop: Hero is SB with [Kc], [Js].
8 folds, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($1) [Jc], [4h], [7s] (2 players)
Hero bets $1, BB raises to $4, Hero calls $3.

Turn: ($9) [5h] (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $6, Hero raises to $18, BB calls $12.

River: ($45) [Ah] (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $40, Hero calls $27 (All-In).

Final Pot: $112

Results in white below:
Hero has Kc Js (one pair, jacks).
BB has Qd Ac (one pair, aces).
Outcome: BB wins $112.

Because of his postflop aggression, I figure I was ahead and that he would be the turn so I called the flop to get him on the turn. Was my raise on the turn too small? I hated the river but knowing him, I bet and he has me beat, he calls, if not he folds. I check, I induce a bluff. Is this a river I have to call? I didn't know what to put him on since he so aggressive and I already had half my stack in there. Can you really fold the river and give him credit for a better hand? He had a 11% pf raise so you'd think he would have raised me with an ace preflop.

If everybody was able to make a living off of their hobbies the world would be a much better place.

Yeah, it's hard to lay it down on the river. The guy bluffed on the flop, bluffed on the turn, who's to say he's not bluffing yet again on the river?
