$50 6 Max NFD unraised pot + action

Postby JohnSmith » Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:27 pm

First flop I've seen. Button min raise a couple times, not sure what it means.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (5 handed) from (Format: Bet The Pot)

SB ($58.05)
Hero ($48.75)
UTG ($28.75)
MP ($60.60)
Button ($79.95)

Preflop: Hero is BB with [2h], [Ah].
1 fold, MP calls $0.50, Button calls $0.50, 1 fold, Hero checks.

Flop: ($1.75) [8h], [Qd], [Kh] (3 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $1, Button raises to $2, Hero calls $2, MP raises to $8.5, Button calls $6.50, hero?

Call - Will most likely bepushed off the hand on the turn
Raise/Push - Looks strong might get them both to fold or both to call with good equity
Fold - Only invested a little

Raise>push>fold>call ??

I either call or fold leaning towards a call, a raise is awful you are going to get called, good chance you are only going to get called by one of them not both, and you are going to be a dog and you aren't going to be getting enough dead money in the pot. The call seems to be correct here you call you are going to turn a flush a little less than 1 out of 5 times so you need a little better than 4:1. This is just a flush draw, getting pushed off it on the turn is not the end of the world. You are calling 6.5 to win 20.5 so you are getting about 3:1 now, your added implied odds should make up the difference because you should get more money if you hit. The fact that you are closing the betting give you the option to call, if you are in between and button is still to act behind you, the correct play is a fold.

Call>Fold>push> raise

I agree with Rhound. You have reasonalble implied odds to chase on the turn. You'll probably be folding turn to a big bet if you miss which is ok. Folding flop is ok too.

Call. And make sure to bet strong if you turn the flush. MP is likely on a set or top two and will have a very difficult time folding and has redraws so you need to get the money in while you're ahead.

Button may also be on a FD which would take you down to 7 outs but you double up for sure those times you hit.

I on the other hand think that if you just call here and flush card comes on the turn, you will not get paid by any of these two, especially if you bet the flush strongly... The reason is that you are not HU in the hand and both villains understand that one of the other two must be on a flush draw when the calls were made.
