Mis-played this hand

Postby AlamdeaMike » Thu Jul 21, 2005 11:23 am

I bet enough to kill any odds for a draw but not enough to get him to fold.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (8 handed)

BB ($216.35)
UTG ($195)
UTG+1 ($255)
MP1 ($132.60)
Hero ($298.35)
CO ($66)
Button ($103.65)
SB ($227.60)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with [Ah], [9h].
3 folds, Hero raises to $6, 1 fold, Button calls $6, 2 folds.

Flop: ($15) [Qc], [Js], [Td] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $6, Hero calls $6.

Turn: ($27) [Kd] (2 players)
Hero bets $12, Button calls $12.

On the Turn I should have bet more. I think he would still call.

River: ($51) [Kh] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $38

Darn, now what? I do not like that King.

Does he have an Ace and tring to buy it or does he have a full house? I Played this hand poorly.

Should I bet the River and fold for a raise? Check call or check fold?

Advice please.

You be way too weak on the turn. You gave him 3.5:1 on his call. I'm betting at least 20 on the turn. River is a tough call.

I agree with Brian. I bet the turn hard, particularly because I'm out of position.

As you played it, I check the river and call a moderate size bet.

I am not a huge fan of how you played this hand.

you raised pre-flop, fine, but then you check call the flop. You get no information on your opponent.

Then you hit your hand, and bet. That's cool, but I think you should bet more. Then the king hits. Why not check raise the turn? He may make a play at the pot and you can put him to a decision, not letting him put you to one

I think you call but I wouldn't be surprised to see a full house here. Maybe he flopped a set but more likely KQ.

most likely you are splitting this pot.

He had KT for a FH and I called the river bet. As I said I played this hand very poorly. Totally my fault.

Thanks for the feed back. Remember guys I do not post the hands that I win or play well. So far I am winning 5 buyins that this site, just still making mistakes.

I need to improve my game with some help.

well, you gave him bad odds to chase if he had 2 pair but if he had a set, you gave him great odds to chase. Being that you called the river bet (if he would know you would), calling $12 on the turn isn't that bad.
