2 more hands. How did I do?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed)

CO ($50)
Hero ($49)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+2 with [9c], [9s]. CO posts a blind of $1. SB posts a blind of $0.5.
2 folds, Hero raises to $4, 3 folds, CO (poster) calls $3, 3 folds.

Ok, raising UTG+2 with 99... good or bad, i'm thinking "Kill me now"

Flop: ($9.50) [5d], [9h], [2d] (2 players)
Hero checks, CO checks.

Top set, I'm luvin it. I have the nuts atm and I check, only a diamond draw out and I don't wanna scare him off. Maybe he'll bet 2 over cards or an over pair into me. Was this the right play?

Turn: ($9.50) [2h] (2 players)
Hero bets $9, CO calls $9.

Full House, it doesn't get much better than this, I bet the pot, although i think i'm taking the pot down here... but you just gotta luv Party Poker, he calls.

River: ($27.50) [4d] (2 players)
Hero bets $36 (All-In), CO calls $36.

Final Pot: $99.50

The 3rd diamond, i'm all in, he calls and shows [7d] [8d]
The chips slide my way.

He says "XXXX"

Here's another thing, I had no read on this player, he had only just sat down. I couldn't realistically put him on a diamond draw (should I have been able to? Did his play scream "Diamond draw"?). If I hadn't hit the 2 on the turn, I have to be honest with myself and say I would still have put him all in on the river. Is that just blatantly the wrong play here or would anyone else have done that?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (9 handed)

I don't like the way this one played out at all. Any suggestions? Looking back, not playing the hand past the flop sounds pretty good to me as I don't consider this a strong position, he has position on me and i only have second pair. I figured I could either check fold, or play aggressively.

The CO was sLA-A

Hero ($51.35)
CO ($34.6)
BB ($56.45)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with [7c], [7d]. SB posts a blind of $0.5.
4 folds, Hero calls $1, CO calls $1, 1 fold, BB checks.

Flop: ($3.50) [3d], [6h], [9d] (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $3.5, CO calls $3.50, BB folds.

Turn: ($10.50) [Ts] (2 players)
Hero bets $10, CO calls $10.

Would over betting the pot on the turn have been a better play? Maybe $15 or $20

River: ($30.50) [5d] (2 players)
Hero bets $5, CO raises to $15, Hero folds.

I make a small bet here hoping he'll just call... I was wrong

All comments appreciated, thanks for your time guys.

Hand #1....Bet the flop! Like I said before, you should be following up a preflop raise with a flop bet most times. People will get used to you betting the flop. The only way to win a big pot is to make the pot big.
Your all in when the flush hits is beautiful. You could also check there and hope he bets it, then you go all in.

Hand #2...I like the flop bet. The turn bet is a little questionable bu tsince he could be on a flush draw, its ok too. When the flush hits thre river, you need to check/fold.
What can you beat that he is calling with? If he has the flush draw he just hit it. If he has a 9 ot a ten he beats you. Hes not going to call yor river bet with any hand you can beat. Time to give up.

#1 It is little too aggressive for me to raise 99 in EP (but it’s not wrong). I raise 99 in LP with few or no limpers.
One of the reasons I don’t like to raise it in EP is because I can’t call a reraise unless the reraiser has a big stack (I don’t have implied odds to draw to a set). Other reasons that I don’t raise are that I am going to be out of position the rest of the hand and one or two overcards will usually flop which makes it very difficult to play the rest of the hand.

When I raise preflop, flop a set and I am first to act I almost always lead with it. If I am last to act I sometimes give a free card. Doyle Brunson writes in Super System that “when there’s a possible draw on the flop... you should almost never check - you should almost always bet.” Especially when you are first to act. If a player check-calls on flop and then check-raises on turn he usually has big hand. And then he gives the opponent a chance to get away from his hand.
And when you bet on flop after raising preflop it is amazing what people will call with when they have position and think (= hope) that you are betting an unimproved AK.
Bet the flop and make him pay for his draw and build the pot. If he folds he probably didn’t have anything.
I like your all in bet on river.
Iceman5 wrote a great post once about why you shouldn’t slowplay a set. He posted it 18. dec. You might want to look at it: "dont slowplay... double up".

I like you bet on flop. When you are called I think it’s player dependent if you want to bet again. But I wouldn’t bet more than $10 if I bet. He could have anything when he called on flop (KQ, A3, 66, T9, 87, flush draw etc). On river he has you beat. He called two big bets on flop and turn. He had a flush draw or a made hand that beats your sevens. Don’t bet again.

Just my thoughts.

Hand #1
I'm in agreement with Kalle here. If you raise 99 in that EP....you have teh chance of getting reraised and losing a possible set. I've started limping more and more with 99 and 88 even in LP,...you want teh pot to be multiway so you can win a big one.

Also, bet the flop like ice says :)

Hand #2
Well played till the river...just check and fold. The draw hit and there are two overs to your hand. I might call a dollar here...lol
