NL200 - AK that didnt 4bet

Postby RedBarracuda » Sun Apr 20, 2008 9:49 am

I have some reads on the villain, but don't know how helpful they are..
- called 3bet with QTs when he saw that I 3bet light
- folds to a lot of 3bets and calls only with PP's (90%+ of the time at least)
- 3bet him for life
- calls PFR and then shoves over a squeeze (2x)

Let me add some of his stats since I have him up right now..
3bet: 5.2%
Sqze: 5.1%
vs.4bet: fold 50% - call 17% - raise 33%

Basically, I am interested in how would you proceed with the hand? shove in? bet lucrative amount? check?

Be glad your opponents refuse to fold; if they didn't, you just might go broke.

This guy seems really tight, I kinda like checking behind and bet/shoving the river. I think you'll get more action against this type of player this way.

Go all in you'll look FOS, he thinks the ace changes nothing.

At NL200 and NL100 I think just calling a 3-bet with AK is alot more common than 4-betting it. 3-betting light is super common at these levels, that's why I usually 4-bet pretty wide and pretty much always my premium hands.

Being IP I think that you can call or 4-bet with AK. Against a really tight player like your villian I think calling is much better actually.

I'd bet like $70-80. Just cause people seem to spaz out and you'll get the money in better a lot more often if you bet smallish on 2 streets because people will convince themselves they have pot odds by the river.
